Comment on Zillow & Moody’s economists forecast very different housing markets by 2024 by Pat Sowder https://nextmortgagenews.com/news/zillow-moodys-economists-forecast-very-different-housing-markets-by-2024/#comment-3070 Wed, 12 Apr 2023 15:01:06 +0000 https://nextmortgagenews.com/?p=45066#comment-3070 I think it only stands to reason prices will drop-markets will correct. We are our own worst enemy; we as agents and consumers adopted a I want it; I will have it mentality. That mentality resulted in the very safety items put into place to keep our markets true being used as negotiation tools: waiving appraisals, offering 10 to 25% over list to win the bid and then agreeing to waive inspections as well. Our excuse, everyone is doing it; hopefully we’ve learned.

I have seen a significant decline in Northwest Arkansas since August of 2022.

Comment on Housing market shows 2 of 3 bubble components, but economists still won’t say bubble by Robert https://nextmortgagenews.com/news/housing-market-has-2-of-3-bubble-components-but-economists-still-wont-say-bubble/#comment-2041 Tue, 05 Jul 2022 02:52:08 +0000 https://nextmortgagenews.com/?p=38916#comment-2041 The requirement for a burst or pop BEFORE for the environment to be a bubble is wrong. The burst is a part of the aftermath of a bubble. We have a bubble for the aforementioned reasons with at least one addition: INFLATION. True inflation is above 17% and that crushes the supposed 4.8% income growth. Furthermore, we have other indicators of deflation of the bubble. The credit debt of Americans is rising at the same time that the savings rate is dropping. We have an unhealthy economy which is caused primarily by government policies. The key area to watch is energy production and most particularly the “fossil” fuel sector. Government policies have moved us from being the world’s #1 supplier and exported to being dependent. This policy has given us no positive return.
