Cathleen is an experienced and successful executive having led all aspects of the customer experience in the Enterprise software/SaaS space with a primary focus on Sales and Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies. Her experience spans multiple industries and ranges from early-stage to large companies: all high-growth focused, private and public companies. She came to Silicon Valley in 1990 from Hyperion Corporation’s HQ in CT to open and lead the western US and Canada sales efforts. Hyperion was the market-leading financial performance management software platform acquired by Oracle in 2007. Cathleen was responsible for taking $3M in revenue in the region to a $100M business by the end of her 7 years running the region. After 10+ years at Hyperion, she wanted to be at the epicenter of the burgeoning internet economy. She held CRO, CCO, COO positions at several VC-back startups in the Bay Area getting experience in disrupting markets, fundraising, acquisitions, and exits from 1999 through 2011.
As the EVP of Sales and Marketing, most recently at Ellie Mae Corp (2012-2019), Cathleen was responsible for all revenue generation, consulting services, customer success, support, education, and training and mortgage-related operations. Ellie Mae is the leading provider of SaaS enterprise software solutions to the residential mortgage industry. After going public in 2011 and closing its first fiscal year at ~$55M in revenue, Cathleen was brought on to drive the growth of Ellie Mae. Ellie Mae was taken private by Thomo Bravo in April 2019 as it was closing in on $500M in annualized revenue. Cathleen left Ellie Mae to advise and coach executives on Go-to-Market strategies and do board work as founder/CEO of Trifecta Consulting, LLC. Cathleen is on the board of SimpleNexus, a leading fintech company focused on providing a digital platform for the borrower, the realtor, and the lender to collaborate through the borrowers’ homeownership journey. She has also continued her work speaking on panels and supporting women in leadership organizations.
Cathleen started her career at the IBM/Control Data Service Bureau Company in New York City. SBC was software timesharing which was the precursor to SaaS. She has also been an IT management consultant at the Index Group (now CSC Index in Boston) and led the desktop and mid-tier computing platform groups in the IT organization at Morgan Stanley, the NY investment bank. However, her deep expertise, passion, and focus has been leading sales and consulting services organizations for innovative companies focused on driving growth and competitive advantage leveraging enterprise software platforms.
