Shawn Stewart (Krause) is the Executive Vice President of Miscellaneous Things at Quicken Loans. She focuses primarily on growing and maintaining the culture and values of Quicken Loans and the Rock Family of Companies.
In her previous role as Executive Vice President of Government Affairs at Quicken Loans, she led the company’s government advocacy team. Her team worked with legislators on Capitol Hill, regularly spent time with government officials in all 50 states and worked closely with city leaders in Quicken Loans’ home city of Detroit. In addition, Shawn and her team met with regulatory agencies and key influencers within the industries represented by Quicken Loans and the more than 100 organizations that make up the growing Rock Family of Companies.
She has more than 30 years of experience in the mortgage & housing industry. Shawn joined Quicken Loans in 1991 as a loan processor and quickly ascended through the ranks, holding numerous positions that touched on nearly every area of the company. Serving in leadership positions within the capital markets, operations and technology teams, Shawn has been instrumental in driving the company forward.
Most notably, Shawn created Quicken Loans’ Mousetrap team, which has the goal of “building a better mousetrap” for all of the company’s business processes. The team is comprised of dedicated problem solvers who solicit, analyze and implement process recommendations and changes throughout Quicken Loans. The Mousetrap team led the creation of the innovative tech-based mortgage process that has propelled Quicken Loans to become the nation’s largest mortgage lender. Through this experience, Shawn has a detailed knowledge of the entire mortgage process.
Additionally, Shawn serves on the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) Development Corporation Board and is the founder of When You Need It Most, a charity committed to providing resources to improve the lives of teachers, students and their families in the City of Detroit.
